After its last edition in Japan (Osaka), ADACHI CUP returns to Singapore. This tournament carries the name of one of the most famous FIVB coaches and instructors - Tatsuya Adachi, who suddenly passed away in 2015. Since then, IVC has been organizing this memorial tournament every year to honor his volleyball legacy.
We organized this year's edition at UWCSEA East. We had in total 12 teams competing in two categories (Championship and Premiership) across three sports halls and six volleyball courts. Four IVC teams participated this year: Elite and Varsity teams in the Championship category and Junior Varsity & Advanced Futures in the Premiership category.
We are happy to say that IVC teams won the Adachi Cup in both categories! The IVC Elite team won all the matches in straight sets and took gold in the Championship Category. IVC Advanced Futures surprised everyone and won the title in the Premiership category! Besides that, we had another team on the podium as IVC Junior Varsity girls ended up second in the Premiership category. Wow! What an achievement! We are so proud of our ladies!
Huge thanks to all our partners who helped us organize this event; to all the referees, players, parents, and supporters. It was amazing to see all the crowd, have a great atmosphere and play normal sports after this long pandemic period.
Special thanks to our fantastic photographer Huan Yuh Seah who is always there for all IVC events. His photos you can find across our entire website.
Looking forward to next year's edition of the Adachi cup!
